Air Seal with AeroBarrier

AeroBarrier is a revolutionary new air sealing process that is changing the way we air seal homes today. This innovative technology simultaneously measures and seals leaks in a building's shell or envelope, allowing builders to "dial in" the precise level of leakage and performance quickly and easily. This helps builders meet new blower door requirements more consistently, making it more cost effective than the traditional air sealing methods and techniques.

With the ability to take the guesswork out of the current air sealing process and measure results in real time, we GUARANTEE you will meet blower door requirements of 3 ACH50 (MA Stretch Code & 2015 IECC) or all the way down to 0.6 ACH50 (Passive House Standard) in one day. Peace of mind before the painters roll in!

With our specially equipped trailer, we arrive at your site ready to mobilize at a moments notice. With the ability to set up and deploy AeroBarrier just about anywhere, we can fit into any building schedule. Reliably and efficiently!

At the end of the process, a final blower door is performed to verify the sealing results. After the 60-90 minute sealing is complete, work can resume in the space within 30 minutes. One of our technicians then provides a Certificate of Completions that shows pre and post leakage results. This guarantees a passing blower door before painters roll in. Peace of Mind has never been easier.

The AeroBarrier Process

Prior to beginning sealing, our technicians will prep the site by tapping and covering anything that is not intended to be sealed such as; HVAC vents, window locks, electrical and plumbing components. If this is a retrofit application then we will cover all horizontal surfaces such as; finished flooring/carpeting, counter tops, appliances, etc. Once everything has been prep'd spray emitters are then strategically placed throughout the site to be sealed.

 Pressurize and Apply

A Blower Door is then used to pressurize the building, forcing air through any leaks in the envelope. A water based caulking mist is then emitted through spray nozzles throughout the building. A computerized master control unit monitors pressure, temperature and humidity to force the caulking mist to any leaks in the building envelope. Once the caulking mist hits a leak the temperature difference causes the mist to turn into a solid flexible caulking which builds onto itself, sealing the leak from outside in.

Seal and Monitor

With AeroBarrier's 60-90 minute sealing process you see results in real-time. You have complete control over your desired level of tightness and can achieve any level required. Builders love AeroBarrier not only for the time its saves but because AeroBarrier helps them meet or exceed Stretch Code infiltration requirements easily and cost-effectively, removing all the guesswork and costly spray foam applications in the traditional air sealing methods and techniques.

“AeroBarrier may be the most important innovation to hit the
building community in years. We were seeking a tighter building
envelope and AeroBarrier answered the call. The technology is
easily deployable in the field, delivers results immediately which is
invaluable, and works well in a fast paced production environment.
You may be able to overcome the inefficiencies of manual sealing
by repeating the process over and over, but it would require more
expensive labor hours and still no guarantee. AeroBarrier is fast
and you know the results before you are even finished.”
